This simple calculator will help you find out if you are saving money by flying to a different airport for cheaper fuel.
This tool is designed for general aviation airplanes but can also be used to calculate ferry fuel savings for turboprops and even jet aircraft.
Enter you current airport fuel price, alternate (cheaper) airport fuel price, airplane fuel burn in GPH, extra time to cheaper fuel and dry cost per hour. The calculator will output both difference in total fuel costs as well as extra cost based on aircraft operating costs. You will be amazed to see that a sometimes even a few dollar per gallon difference in fuel price may actually cost you more depending on your uplift, operating cost and extra time and fuel required to get the cheaper fuel.
